A culture and form of ground breaking music and self expression with elements that consisted of the elements of graffiti art, DJing, MCing, and breaking. Today Hip-Hop is considered to be dead in the mainstream because so-called mainstream Hip-Hop doesn't have the elements of hip-hop and have no meaning. The stuff on MTV and the radio can't be called Hip-Hop because the lyrics don't have any meaning or self expression. Wack artists today just rap about their shopping lists and other bullshit. There are no more DJs making a prescence since artists today think they can manage without them. Without a DJ there are no scratches and cuts. No much graffiti art is being shown in videos. Artists such as Tupac, Biggie, Kanye West, Jay Z ect. DOnt lack graffiti because their lyrics actually have a meaning and also they have great MCs mixing their music. This collage tells a story of what most african american childen growing up aroun the 1980s to now have been listening to for age's. Hiphop is just another art form just like photography...

week 6 EOC: How art changed me
I dont remember not loving art. Some of my earliest memories are around creating things and learning new techniques with crayons, etc. The most influential "thing" in my art has been the Camera.
Its versatility and purity of application captivated me from the first
time I used it. Within six months, I'd stopped using kodak. and moved to canon. Now, I
only use kodak amusement parks. A result of my answer to the first question is that I dont think art
has changed my life. The truth of the matter is that the opposite is
true. Life continues to change my art. Subject matter, approaches to
those subjects, even colors I choose to work with are all affected by
the experiences of my life. Art uses visual shapes/forms, colors, lines, to create meaning.
Sometimes these 'meanings' are shallow..that is, the image is lacking in
conceptual complexity. Humans vary in the meanings that they are able to attribute to these forms..all depends on what humans know about them. Human beings have been creating visual things from the times that they
began to draw. What these images mean depend on the context in which
image is created, for what purpose it is created, by whom it is
created, and for whom it is created.
Week6: BOC Photo editing
Concentration Camp |
When you look at a scene with your naked eye, your brain quickly picks out subjects of interest. But the camera doesn’t discriminate – it captures everything in front of it, which can lead to a cluttered, messy picture with no clear focal point. What you need to do is choose your subject, then select a focal length or camera viewpoint that makes it the centre of attention in the frame. You can’t always keep other objects out of the picture, so try to keep them in the background or make them part of the story. Silhouettes, textures and patterns are all devices that work quite well in simple compositions. Don’t just concentrate on your subject – look at what’s happening in the background, too. This ties in with simplifying the scene and filling the frame. You can’t usually exclude the background completely, of course, but you can control it.

week5 BOC: Photographer in Camera Store
Thats The One |
How could I not give these guys and gals a review. Super knowledgeable
and helpful. I bought some camera accessories here and rented lighting
& other accessories. I would have bought my camera and lens here but
I got a great deal somewhere else that I couldn't pass up. I
came in kicking tires the first couple of times. They've got a lot of
camera equipment and a lot more staff available to help you than other
camera shops I've visited. I don't even know if there's been a time
where it hasn't been busy - its always busy! kudos. The Camera
Store does something better than every other camera shop in Calgary -
they focus on the customer's needs. They have a YouTube channel thats
filled with amazing product reviews and helpful information about...
cameras! They understand marketing and more importantly know where their
customers are. Ive been shopping here for some time now and i will continue to be a loyal customer.
Keep it up and fantastic job!
